It’s only fair that since I will be asking many questions about you and your needs, that you should also know something about me. Having said that, allow me to introduce myself:
My name is Hector Carreras, I answer to the nickname of “Tico”. I was born in Bronx, New York. I am of a Puerto Rican heritage, both my father and mother were born in Puerto Rico. However, I grew up in Silver Spring, MD where I was recruited as a Marine, and am now retired after 21 years of service. My tour took place between 1972 and 1994, two decades which I saw many life changing moments. In that time I travelled to many new and exciting countries like the Island of Okinawa Japan, London England, many cities in southern Germany, Port-Au-Prince Haiti, the city of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, the city of Havana and the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base Cuba, Mexico and various cities in Ontario, Canada. I also travelled throughout various American cities from the West coast to the East as well as from the North and to the South. You could say I lived a life of a gypsy.
As a Marine I handled various jobs and responsibilities, one of my favorites would have to be when I specialized as a Marine Security Guard for the U.S. Department of State where I learned diplomacy and another language, French. Having been classified as a multi talented Marine this led me to special duty assignment as a Marine Recruiter, my passion throughout my last 10 years as a Marine. I managed a recruiting team in the Baltimore and Anne Arundel County areas, responsible for the quality of young men and women entering our brotherhood of Marines. Serving the Baltimore area made me appreciate the people and the heritage Baltimore had to offer.
Prior to my Marine recruiting assignment to Baltimore, I traveled to Waterloo, Ontario, Canada where I met and romanced a young lady named Sonia, who was born in Canada and has a Guatemalan heritage. Six months after we met, she became my bride and life partner. During the ten years to follow we settled and bought a home in the Baltimore County area. The kids I recruited as Marines kept me busy enough, getting them prepare for recruit training. As time grew nearer to my retirement my bride bore me a child whom we named Max. Like all teens today he participates in team sports, from Soccer to Martial Arts. My bride Sonia is a bank representative and has as much passion as I with customer service. We know and value people and push to be the best in our field.
After my retirement I worked as an Electrolux sales representative and field trainer. Following that, I was introduced to car sales, now my second career. I’ve worked for several dealers since; Bill Kidd’s Toyota, Town and Country Pontiac- Nissan and SUZUKI, Al Packer Lincoln Mercury and Jeep, Adams Jeep, World of Wheels, Schaffer & Strohminger, Chestertown Chrysler-Jeep- Dodge, Jones Junction used cars and currently I am employed at Adams SUZUKI eager to serve you. I have been in sales for the last 28+ years, but discovered I really have been in sales since age 13. I have always treated my customers with respect, integrity and honesty. The thing that drives me most is seeing my customers smile as I introduce a solution to their needs. I work hard at making the car buying experience one to remember positively, and hope to change the image stereo type given to car sales professionals. When you the customer are happy, so is my family and the company for whom I work for.
I am a Disable American Veteran, By-lingual in Spanish and English, the founder of the Maryland Rock Raiders Off- Road club, Volunteer fund raiser for the American Diabetes Association in Baltimore. I hold memberships with the St. Jacques Church in Parkville, MD the D. A. V, former Marine Embassy Guard, former Marine Career Recruiter in Baltimore, the President of the Middle Atlantic Four Wheel Drive Association, member of the United Four Wheel Drive Association and the Knights of Columbus.
Now, that you know about me, allow me to earn your car business. To get the results you want, we both have to work together. I believe that communication is the key to a greater understanding. Now my friend, let’s get started on how I may help you…….
